Science Saturday - It's a Colorful World
Main Library - Children's Room

Come to one of two interactive, hands on science programs all about color! Participants will learn how to mix colors as well as how to separate them. We know that red, yellow, and blue are colors, but what about black, or white? Registration is required and opens April 13

2:00 pm: ages 3-6 with an adult: mix colors with PlayDoh.

3:00 pm: ages 7-10: create a color wheel to investigate how we see colors.

Science Saturday - Mother’s Day Science
Main Library - Children's Room

Both Junior and Senior scientists will take a look at different kinds of seeds. Both groups will create a growing gift for Mom. Registration is required and begins on April 27.

2:00 pm: ages 3-6 with an adult: make a ‘greenhouse’ to watch a seed germinate.

3:00 pm: ages 7-10: construct a hydroponic garden. Registration is required and begins on April 27.

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant is turning 30! Celebrate with stories and a craft. Best suited for children ages 3-8 years, accompanied by a caregiver. No registration.

 

 

Terrific Tots

Ages: 2½- 3½
Times: Mondays at 10:00 am
Location: Main Library

Storytime for children ages 2½- 3½, and their parents or caregivers. Activities include stories, a simple craft, and time to play with library toys at the end of the program. No registration.



Super Kids

Ages: 3-5
Times: Wednesdays at 10:00 am
Location: Main Library

This is a weekly program for more experienced listeners. The program lasts approximately 30 minutes. Children 3 and older are encouraged to stay alone in the story hour room so that they can become comfortable being apart from their parents for a short period of time. However, parents must stay in the Children’s Department. Late arrivals will not be admitted because they disrupt the continuity of the program.



Family Story Hour

Ages: 3-8
Times: Thursdays at 6:30 pm
Location: Main Library

This is a weekly program for families to attend together. Activities include stories and a film or craft. The program lasts 30-45 minutes.



Time for Tots

Ages: Under 3
Times: Fridays at 10:00 am
Location: Main Library

This is a weekly program for children and adults consisting of two basic activities: using library toys with your child and participating in mini-storytimes. Children and parents are not expected to stay for the full 1½ hours. You may come and go as is comfortable for your child and the group. Parents must stay with their child at all times and use the toys with them. This will help children develop the art of sharing and learn respect for others and for toys. This program is restricted to children under three years old and their caregivers.
