The Computer Center at the Main Library has seventeen computers with Internet access, the Microsoft Office suite, and interactive tutorials. Eleven computers have a 90-minute time limit. Four computers have a 45-minute time limit. Two computers have a 15-minute time limit.
Hours
The Computer Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:50 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:50 pm.
Fees/Requirements
Use of the Computer Center is free.
All users must present their own current public library card in good standing.
All users must be 13 years or older.
Reservations
Computers can be reserved up to one day in advance by calling (860) 224-3155 ext. 151. To reserve a computer by phone, users must have their library cards. Out-of-state visitors cannot reserve a computer by telephone. To reserve a computer in person, users must have either their library cards or photo identification.
Reservations will not be held for longer than 10 minutes after the reserved time.
Usage Guidelines
Users are limited to 180 minutes per day, with computers sessions ranging from 90 minutes, 45 minutes, and 15 minutes. This limit includes the time required for saving and printing files.
Printing costs 15¢ per page for black and white printing, and 25¢ for color printing. Users may not bring their own paper.
It is recommended that users save their work to a flash drive. Any files saved to the hard drive will be erased. 8 GB Flash drives are available at the Check Out Desk for $10.00. Users are welcome to bring their own storage media.
