What are Museum Passes?
Passes allow patrons to attend the attraction or museum for a reduced or free admission.
How do Museum Passes work?
Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance by (click HERE), by phone at 860-224-3155 extension 121, or in person in the Children’s Room at the library. You must have a current and valid library card to check out a pass.
How do I pick up and return my pass?
Passes to pick up at the library may be checked out the evening before use after 6pm. If picking pass up on Friday or Saturday, please pick up after noon. These passes require a $20 cash security deposit, to be refunded when the pass is returned on time.
Passes must be returned to the Children's Desk
Please do not return the pass in the book drop or you will forfeit your deposit. When returning a pass Monday through Thursday, please return pass by 6:00pm. When returning a pass Friday and Saturday, please return pass by noon, as other patrons may be waiting to use it.
What does “Print on Demand” mean?
Print-on-Demand passes may be printed at home or at the library. These passes do not require a cash deposit, and do not need to be returned. Passes must be printed, as the electronic versions on mobile devices will not be accepted. The Children's Room can print the pass if you do not have access to a printer.
Are there any limits or penalties?
Patrons are limited to one museum reservation per day, and two museum reservations per month. If you fail to pick up passes twice in a 90 day period, you will be blocked from reserving passes. The fee for a lost pass is the price of replacement pass plus the $20 cash deposit.
How do I cancel a reservation?
If you reserve a pass but wish cancel your reservation, you can click HERE or call the Children’s Room at 860-224-3155 x121.
